Camden Friends Meeting has long been a center of social activism. Early members were abolitionists and provided shelter to runaway slaves on the Underground Railroad.
Friends today continue with individual witness and participation in such groups as the Kent County Peace Fellowship, the Alternatives to Violence Program (AVP), the Quaker United Nations Office among other activities. The 2009 green renovations of our annex are a reflection of our witness for an earth restored and peace through environmental stewardship.
The following links are national and international Quaker organizations dedicated witnessing for peace, social justice, and an earth restored.
